The Story Behind Dream Chaser

After 15 years in a professional healthcare career, I was fired. Just like that — a decade and a half of dedication, gone.

What followed was a domino effect I didn't see coming. Rejection after rejection. Bills stacking up. And eventually, the moment that broke me: handing my car back to the finance company to be auctioned.

I took the bus home that day. No car. No job. No clear path forward. I had hit rock bottom. But somewhere on that journey home, something shifted inside me.

When I walked through the door, my two daughters — aged 9 and 11 — looked at me. They could see it. And then they asked me something that changed everything:

"Mum, do you have to work for other people? Why do grown-ups work for other people?"

I stopped. And I said: No.

In that moment, I realised my children had never seen what it looked like to work for yourself. To bet on yourself. To chase something that was truly yours. That day, I made a promise — to them and to myself. This time, I would work for me.

Dream Chaser was born from that promise.
